Ascending the stone steps we reach the pinnacle of Greek antiquity, the Parthenon and various temples on the Acropolis while hearing about its turbulent history and the mythological struggles of the gods. After plenty of time to take photos and contemplate this amazing site we descend through the olive trees to find the wide and pretty pedestrianized street of Dionysiou.
Passing the picturesque Neoclassic houses we soon arrive at the Temple of Zeus and Hadrian’s arch with an insight into the important Roman occupation of the city before visiting the Olympic stadium. Continuing to the former Royal Palace and National Gardens we explore this green oasis.
