Day 1 - The Christianization of the Roman Empire - Colosseum, Imperial Forum, San Clemente catacombs
Visit the Colosseum symbol of the power of Rome, then transformed into martyr’s memorial. Continue to the Arch of Constantine, this emperor was the first who allowed the Christians to practice, the first of a series of transformation that brought christianity to our days. See the Forum, once the beating heart of Rome, was abandoned, the city slowly transformed, the signs and the monuments erected to the glory of the pagan gods, turned into churches for the compassion of the local farmers and shepherds that needed a place to warship God. As the transformation of the city went on so did the new religion of hope. The Christianization of Rome.
Day 2 - The day of forgiveness - S.Maria Maggiore, S.Giovanni in Laterano, S.Paolo fuori le Mura, S.Lorenzo fuori le Mura, San Sebastiano, St. Croce in Gerusalemme

On this day you will cross 3 of 4 sacred doors of the major basilicas and will visit as tradition, the 3 fundamental churches to complete the path of mercy. The last Basilica, the most important (St. Peter) will be visited on the last day at the end of the Vatican Museums tour.

Visit the Catacombs where christians were buried and where the relics belonging to Peter and Paul were preserved in times of danger and invasions. Continue the morning tour following the footsteps of Peter’s life. The Church of Domine Quo Vadis, where Peter met Jesus while escaping from Rome and his destiny. Peter was then imprisoned in a dark humid and cold jail in Rome, the mamertine prison, where he spent his last moments in prayer before being crucified. We exort you to do the same, pray in the chapel inside the prison and reconnect to God, his sacrifice and mercy for the human kind. (St. Paul’s path on request for the afternoon)
