The Fairy Cave (Gua Kapor) and Wind Caves (Gua Angin) Nature Reserves are about an hour drive from Kuching City. The Fairy Cave is approximately 3 storeys high. A quick climb through the cave opens up into a main chamber. Sunlight streams into the chamber, affording spectacular views of the limestone. The local people of Bau Town hold these caves in high reverence. To reach the caves, you will be driven past countryside of Sarawak for about 27.96 mile (45 km), passing several farms and plantations to reach Bau town. Your local guide will explain to you the agricultural methods of the local farmers of Sarawak. Bau town, a small town inhabited and the Bidayuh a tribe living in Sarawak is fascinating small up country town for the visitor.

The Caves of Fairies is about 4.97mile (8 km) from Bau Town, located on Moint Kapur. The entrance of the cave is about 118.11 feet (36m) above the base of the cliff. A concrete staircase of over 100 steps will lead you to entrance of the cave. The beautiful view that you can see up from the entrance of the cave to the valley below with its forest and fields is a wonderful relief after the climb. Please bring your torches as the cave is really dark.

Then you will be taking to the Wind Cave nearby. The Wind Cave is a series of three dark tunnel caves filled with insect-eating bats and their stinky guano. You can also see some birds’ nests inside Wind Cave and get a glimpse of the Sarawak River. Along the walkway through the nature reserve you will see some amazing flora and fauna.
