The Rui-Ho cycling route was reconstructed from a aged railway track. There are 3 tunnels on the way to the Cat Village Houtong (Originally, Houtong was called Hou Dong which means “monkey cave”). It brings you a unexceptional cycling experience. You can observe caves along the riverside, and this route on the way to SanChaoLing. After the riding, you will enjoy your lunch at Village Houtong, and you can take some beautiful photos there. Don't be surprised. There are more than 200 cats in this area. After this cycling activity, your tour guide also drive you to Jiufen for the old street visiting.

After this cycling activity, your tour guide also drive you to Jiufen for the old street visiting.This cycling starts from the visit center of Houtong Coal-Mine Ecological Park. In the beginning, you will ride through the tunnel which was reconstructed by railway tunnel, then pass by Houtong railway station. SanChaoLing is the first stop you will be heading to, and you will observe the caves along the riverside. You also can see lots of Egretta garzetta (Little egret) taking rest here. You will hear birds singing as well as various of sound from insects mixed with the train whistle from time to time. What a nature orchestra!
You will keep riding with breeze for another 3KM to SanChaoLing village. There is a railway tunnel at the end, and you will rest here for a while. Some color painted trains come from the tunnel right in front of you, and you will be able to take some very close-up photo shots.
You will continue biking again for going back to Houtong railway station. When you ride on the route to the small hill, the train comes by again. You can take more beautiful photos there. In this part of route, you will pass by 3 tunnels, then you will make a U turn and riding back to the station again. Having a great lunch time near by the station at your own cost. The food here is quite delicious, and they are in classic local style, such as: noodles or rice noodles, and etc.
You will have a free cup of coffee or tea in the coffee shop after lunch. It's time to take some photos with cats or you can follow cats' steps by walking on the tailor made sky bridge for cats there. You can walk to the other side of Cat Village to explore the secret living of these cats. You will see cats laying, sitting, even sunbathing everywhere.
After cycling, you will visit Jiou Fen old streets where you can walk around and enjoy more lovely souvenirs, or having some local snacks by yourselves. You will stay here for 1 to 1.5 hours. Then you will be transported back to your hotel in Taipei city.
