This full day private tour in and around the desert capital Ouarzazate gives you an overview of the film studios and different movie sites.Visit two ancient Kasbahs without hassle and take a tour of Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Morocco. You will also explore the peaceful Oasis Fint.You will meet your guide in front of your riad or hotel in Ouarzazate at 9:00 am and start the day at the old Kasbah of Ouarzazate named Taourirt where you have time to explore the narrow pedestrian streets on your own. There is also the movie museum on the other side of the road to see.
Then, you’ll continue to the Atlas Corporation film studies where you can see the diverse sets and listen to the anecdotes of multiple movies and actors. Several famous movies were made in these studios. Have a look at the fortified city wall which has been used in movies and enjoy the panoramic view over Ouarzazarte until the snow covered Atlas Mountains.
The next highlight is the ancient Kasbah Tifoultout which is around 8km outside the city. This fortress belonged to the family of Thami El Glaoui, Pasha of Marrakech from 1912 to 1956. A part of this old Kasbah is used as a hotel/restaurant and the rest is slowly crumbling into the red desert sand.
You continue your trip to the Oasis Fint, where a traditional lunch is waiting at a local family’s home. There will be time to explore the quiet and peaceful oasis at the river together with a guide and learn about the local life of the friendly inhabitants.
After, you will be returned to Ouarzazate and dropped off at your accommodation.
