1 day tour from Iasi to Chisinau to discover a range of natural, cultural, religious and architectural attractions.Your tour will start at the hotel where you will meet with your travel guide. On our way to the Moldavian capital, we will stop and visit two of the country’s most amazing monasteries: Hancu and Capriana. The first is one of the regions most visited historical monuments. Built in 1678, the nuns left the convent in the 18th century, when the Tatars invaded. After a tumultuous history, including invasions and nationalization, the reconstruction of the monastery began in 1992. Capriana monastery, built in 1429, was for a long period of time the headquarters of Moldova’s bishop. Originally, it was constructed completely in wood and only later, in 1545, a church called “Assumption of the Virgin Mary” was constructed from stone.
We will reach Chisinau, located in the middle of the country, constructed on seven hills, mainly built in Soviet style. It’s a pretty, friendly place with old historical building, but also new and modern. The capital of Moldova is considered to be one of the greenest cities in Europe. There are many parks in the city and the trees grow on almost every street. Our city tour includes the Arc of Triumph - the Holy Gates being formed of 16 Corinthian columns which provide support for the arched upper level. The marble tablets on the sides tell the story of the 1944 liberation of the capital from German-Romanian invaders. On our walking tour, you will also learn about the history of Prince Stefan, the symbol of medieval Moldova. Next we will visit Alexander Pushkin’s house museum, the place where he lived for 3 years during his exile.

Last, but not least, our journey takes us to Cricova Winery, situated at a depth of 50-80 meters. The Moldavian cellars represent a real underground city where you will encounter the influence of Ancient Greece and the Roman period reflected in the reliefs. Considered to be the pearl of Moldovan winemaking, world leaders like Vladimir Putin, Herman Goering or German Chancellor Angela Merkel have private collections here. You will have the opportunity to discover the fine selection of products through a special wine tasting session. Optionally, you may choose to have an unforgettable lunch in this fantastic place.

Afterwards, you will be transferred back to Iasi.

Departure at 08:00 from Iasi and return at 18:00.
