Spend a full day exploring the Tuscan countryside on a private tour to San Golgano and the medieval village of Montalcino. Visit two beautiful abbeys and the hills of the Brunello vineyards dominated by the village of Montalcino. Enjoy a Tuscan lunch and wine tasting in a Brunello winery.Begin the day with a visit to a magical place in the Tuscan countryside, St. Galgano Abbey. This imposing gothic church amazes the visitor both for its insulation and the sanctity it emanates. The distinction that sets this abbey apart is that it does not have a roof. Take a short walk up the adjacent hill to reach the Hermitage of Montesiepi, to see its famous sword in the stone.

The next stop on the tour is Murlo, a small and charming town of Etruscan origin. Reach the medieval village of Montalcino, where you can walk among artisanal shops and small cafes. Admire the monumental palaces and explore a fourteenth-century fortress by taking a scenic tour of its walls. Take in the wonderful view of the surrounding hills which are filled with vineyards and cultivated fields.

Enjoy a typical Tuscan lunch in a Brunello winery, then discover St. Antimo Abbey, a romanesque style building, whose magnificence is enhanced by the beauty of the surrounding countryside, where everyday functions are celebrated with Gregorian chants.

On the way back, stop at an organic farm in Brunello, where you'll be guided to the cellars to learn about the traditional wine-making methods. Taste a selection of Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino wines, which are among the most famous and appreciated wines in the world.
