During this one day tour you will discover some of the beauties that vicinity of the town Banska Bystrica offers you - underground area of limestone Harmanecká cave in the morning and historical reserve of folk architecture set in the mountains - old mining village of Spania Dolina in the afternoon. You will be picked up at your hotel in Banska Bystrica by your guide and then transported by car/van to car park lot of Harmanecka cave. The entrance is at 821 m, accessible only on foot and it takes app. 40 min. from car park lot. On the way to the cave a precious finding place of protected yew-trees. The cave features a rich limestone decoration and its visit lasts app 60 minutes.

After the visit of the cave you will taste some of the typical Slovak food in traditional Slovak restaurant.

In the afternoon we will set out for last part of the trip - up to Spania Dolina village (by car). Spania Dolina lies in altitude of 728 m and its spacious houses of former miners with galleries and shingle roofs are the reminders of the mining history of this region. A Renaissance church is another interesting structure in this commune. The church is accessible from the square via a roofed staircase. Apart from mining, the local embroidery was a typical occupation of villagers. You will take a pleasant walk in this picturesque village and in the natural area around (app 2 hours) where the evidence of mining activity is still present. The mining past of the commune is obvious from the preserved portals of shafts and bulky waste heaps in the background of the settlement.

After the walk you can enjoy refreshment in the originally Renaissance building of the mining guard-house and the knocker (today there is restaurant and pension).

At the end of the tour you will be driven back to your hotel.
