Full-Day Volunteer Tour of Dujiangyan Giant Panda Project

This private tour is arranged for those tourists who love giant pandas and are interested in spending one full day on looking after them and learning about their breeding and growth at Dujiangyan China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center.You will be picked up from your hotel in the early morning and driven about 1 hour (80km) to Dujiangyan Giant Panda Protection and Research Center.
At 8:30am to 9:00am, you will register and sign a security contract with the service center. After that, all volunteers are offered outfits of overalls and gloves. Before work, all volunteers will be given job safety training and introduction to their job function.
At around 9:00am to 10:00am, you will learn about being a giant panda breeder. You will be asked to clean the residual bamboo and their feces, observe giant pandas’ living environment and state, and wash pandas' enclosures.
Between 10:00am and 11:00am, you will visit giant panda villa area under the guidance of your instructor.
From 11:00am to 11:30am, you will feed the giant pandas with specially prepared delicious “steamed buns” and fruits
Between 12:00pm and 1:00pm, all volunteers will have lunch with the staff in panda protection and research center.
Around 1:00pm to 2:00pm, watch an instructional science video about giant pandas to know how humans have sought to protect giant pandas and live in harmony with them.
From 2:00pm to 2:50pm, you will feed giant pandas with specially prepared delicious “steamed buns” and fruits
Between 2:50 and 3:30pm, your instructor will explain the formula of steamed bun’s and its importance of nutrition. You will learn how to make steamed buns for giant pandas under the instructor’s lead.
Finally from 3:30pm to 4:00pm, you will return your work outfit of overalls and say goodbye to the giant pandas as well as your instructor.
The tour concludes at this point, and you will be dropped off at your hotel in Chengdu.
