Visit Gozo, a tiny island referred to as ‘Malta’s little sister,’ on a day trip from Malta! Travel with a local guide and discover the island’s gloriously unspoiled scenery as well as attractions linked to TV shows like ‘Game of Thrones’ and Greek mythology. See natural sights such as the Azure Window and Inland Sea; visit the intriguing Calypso Cave; and watch 'Gozo 360,' a short movie about the island’s history and culture, inside the ancient citadel in Victoria.Start your day trip with a hotel pickup from Malta, and travel to the port by minivan/bus. Then, board your ferry for your 20-minute crossing to the island of Gozo.

On arrival, step inside your air-conditioned minibus, and then set off to explore the stunning little island. Greener and arguably more picturesque than Malta, Gozo is made up of three rolling hills, with cute Mediterranean villages peppered throughout its landscape.

Admire the scenery on the way to Dwejra Bay and visit a beauty spot called the Azure Window – a rocky arch formed by centuries of gradual erosion. Stop to take pictures from the bay, and hear of the TV shows and movies that the arch has appeared in, like Game of Thrones and The Count of Monte Cristo. Another impressive landmark that your guide will point out is the Inland Sea – a stretch of water separated from the Mediterranean by rocks.

Enjoy a break for a light Mediterranean lunch with wine in a local restaurant, and then continue to Xlendi Bay for a stroll along the seafront, admiring the cobalt sea gently lapping its sandy beach. Admire a grotto called Calypso Cave, which overlooks beautiful Ramla Bay, and hear of its links to Greek mythology; it’s thought to be the site mentioned in the Odyssey, where the nymph Calypso held Odysseus as a ‘prisoner of love.’

Your final stop of your tour is in the island’s capital – Victoria. In the heart of the town lies the citadel, an ancient fortress (also known as the citadella) that’s believed to have protected the town since the Bronze Age. Head inside the citadel’s walls and visit the theater to watch the Gozo 360 show – a short movie about the island’s history and culture.

Travel back to Gozo port and, after your ferry ride, finish your day trip with a drop-off at your hotel.
