After hotel pickup from George Town, begin your tour by hopping aboard an open-air 4x4 Land Rover. Enjoy the breeze as your knowledgeable guide with generational ties to Grand Cayman takes you along paved and rugged terrain to popular and hidden sites on the eastern side of the island.

Deluxe tour (5.5 hours)
About 20 minutes east of George Town, arrive at the beachside museum of Pedro St James. Step inside the 3-story former home of a plantation owner restored to its 18th-century glory, referred to as ‘the castle,’ which has outlasted hurricanes, fires, vandalism and rumors of being cursed. Learn from your guide about the family that had lived there and hear about the castle’s various uses over the years as a courthouse, jail, government assembly area and restaurant.

Next to the castle, enter Pedro Theatre and experience a 20-minute 3D movie portraying the struggles of the island’s early settlers. After the film, stroll through lush landscaped grounds overlooking the Caribbean, and observe Hurricane Ivan Memorial along the way.

Climb back aboard the Land Rover and continue east to Botanic Garden, opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1994, and uncover a trove of natural delights. Capture the rainbow in the Floral Colour Garden organized by color, walk along the adjoining wetland lake or wander through Woodland Trail and come upon blue iguanas, butterflies and orchids.

Your safari journey includes photo-op stops at picturesque locations and a visit to the famous blow holes along the rocky shoreline. When trade winds from the east act up, waves push water into underground caverns, the propulsive pressure of which shoots up geysers as high as 20 feet (6 meters). Finding these blow holes, however, is a tricky matter, dependent on timing and optimal weather conditions, which your guide will note when leading you to the site.

The full-day tour includes sampling traditional snacks and a sumptuous lunch prepared by locals that will have you sopping up every bit of savory juice with bread or rice. At the end of your sightseeing, enjoy transport back to your hotel in George Town.

Standard tour (3.5 hours)
