Enjoy a little history, culture and Caribbean music with your rum punch on board the rum train! This 2.5 hour excursion stops by the salt house, historic Cockburn Town, the local market and the Grand Turk Inn for a rum tasting. You will spend time at "Jack's Shack" before ending at the beach resort immediately adjacent to the cruise center. Plentiful rum punch is included during the ride.All aboard the “rum train!” After being greeted by your guide and provided with safety information and a tour briefing, you will depart from the resort adjacent to the Grand Turk Cruise Center. Enjoy a souvenir cup filled with rum punch. Along the way to historic Cockburn Town, the guide will provide geographical and historical information regarding the Turks and Caicos Islands. You will pass by the John Glen capsule, stop by the “Salt House” and learn a bit about Grand Turk's culture and salt-raking past. The tour continues along historic Duke Street then on to Front Street. You will enjoy a short walking tour which includes a visit to a local market before you re-board the rum train for the short ride to the Grand Turk Inn, where you will participate in a rum tasting.
Then re-board the train and make your way to the favorite, local watering hole – “Jack’s Shack.” Upon arrival, your cup will be topped off with a rum beverage from the bar. You will have enough time here for lively conversation and a chance to try Jack’s jerk chicken specialty (additional charge). After Jack’s Shack, you will make your way to your final stop, a resort next door to the cruise center. Your cup will be filled by your guide, then you are free to relax on a complimentary beach chair. Enjoy the resort bar and café (at your own expense), away from the larger crowd at the cruise center beach. Your ship will be docked right in front of you and the cruise center is less than a one minute walk away.
