Your one day shore excursion from Greenock port, Glasgow, takes you to the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, passing through the Trossachs National Park and visiting Stirling Castle. Explore the lands of Robert the Bruce, William Wallace and Rob Roy. Have a memorable visit to Stirling Castle, discover the pretty village of Aberfoyle, see some highland cows up close and end the day with views of Loch Lomond.Departing from Greenock port your tour begins by travelling to the stunning Trossachs, known as ‘Scotland in Miniature’ for its wealth of hills, lochs, and woodlands, as this is the meeting place of the Lowlands and Highlands of Scotland. Marvel at the beauty of the area that was once home to folk hero Rob Roy MacGregor and his ‘Children of the Mist’.

We continue into Stirlingshire and to Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s most important sites which was integral to the Robert the Bruce & William Wallace’s struggles against the English. You will be able to spot the Old Town of Stirling which is still protected by its original walls, which were built to protect Mary, Queen of Scots from Henry VIII. You will have time to explore the history of the castle and learn about its famous residents as well as taking in the wonderful views of Stirlingshire.

From Stirling, we travel to Kilmahog to meet the resident highland cows up close. We then journey to the village of Aberfoyle, located just below the Highland faultline, for lunch and the opportunity to explore further.

Leaving Aberfoyle, we continue our travels through the Trossachs National Park and make our final stop on banks of Loch Lomond, one of the most spectacular lochs in Scotland, and the largest. Here you will have the opportunity to take plenty of photos of the many islands the loch holds as well the striking mountain that surrounds it. We then begin our return journey through the Campsie Fells to Greenock port.
