Discover Warsaw, the capital of Poland, on this day trip from Krakow. Explore the area of Praga and learn from your guide how this poor neighborhood has transformed into a cultural hub full of artist galleries and restaurants. Admire medieval architecture as you stroll down cobblestone streets of UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town and enjoy free time to sightsee more on your own. Limited to 10 people, this full-day tour provides a small-group experience. After pickup from your Krakow hotel, you’ll be taken on a short minivan ride to Warsaw, the capital of Poland. When you arrive, your guide will take you on a sightseeing tour of the city. See important historic monuments and visit the area of Praga, a former independent town and now one of Warsaw’s many boroughs.

Your guide will explain how this area, located along the Vistula River, was once home to the poorest people in the city and was wrought with criminals. In recent years, though, it has blossomed into one of Europe's creative capitals; renovated factories and warehouses are now the favorite haunts of artists. As you explore Praga, you’ll see bars, clubs, galleries and restaurants that have transformed these back alleys into a popular tourist destination.

Next, visit beautiful Lazienki Park and learn how this former hunting ground was converted by King Stanislaw August Poniatowski into a park in 1764. Take a stroll here and see the palace and amphitheater, the Chopin statue and the neoclassic Palace on the Water, the former residence of the king.

Continue walking down the Royal Route to the city’s historic center, Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the quaint atmosphere and medieval architecture as you saunter down cobblestone streets to Old Town Market Place, full of traditional Polish restaurants, cafés and shops.

Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant and you’ll then have free time to explore on your own. Your guide will provide you with a map of the city to help you get around. One of the many great attractions you can see is the Royal Castle, the official residence of the Polish monarchs.

After meeting back up with your guide, you’ll be driven back to Krakow to your centrally located hotel.
