Once you get to Guadalest, admire its Arab origin architecture declared a Historic-Artistic Site. You will go up to the castle of San José, the 11th Century Muslim fortress that can be accessed through a natural tunnel on the rock.
The castle is situated in the high part of the town and it was first a Muslim settlement that over the years became part of the Aragon Crown. Its fortress surrounds the whole town backed by the mountains of the same name on top of a 500-metre-high rock that overlooks the reservoir that supplies water to the region of Marina Baixa. Once outside of the Castle you will visit the old prison located inside the Town Hall. From here, you will go to the main square of this town where you will find the typical souvenir and handicraft stores. Take your time to wonder around and try some local snacks. Once the 5 hours have gone by, you will head back to Alicante where this experience finishes.
