You'll have help to find the fish and introduce you to the fishing methods used to catch them in NZ, from dry fly to nymphing and anything else in-between!In New Zealand, the focus is on making the most of the abundant clear water and sight-fishing for trout, casting once a fish is spotted, which is more akin to ‘trout-hunting’. Sight fishing is not easy but the most rewarding of all and therefore I can introduce you to its main aspects and help you be confident and competent to catch that fish of a lifetime! You will target brown and rainbow trout with upstream dry fly and nymph methods, targeting feeding fish in clear water. Depending on weather and conditions, you may visit different rivers and areas ranging from mountainous valleys surrounded by forest to vast tussock plains. All locations have spectacular landscape, beautiful water and stunning trout.
Your guide is a young, passionate and energetic fly fishing guide based out of Wanaka, with fishing experience for over 12 years throughout New Zealand’s lakes and rivers, both in the North and South Islands. Your guide's true passion is for sight fishing in clear backcountry fisheries where the wilderness and seclusion add to the overall adventure, and loves the opportunity to share the experience with others. Whether you're a new or experienced angler, your fishing adventure is tailored to your wishes and promises an authentic and memorable experience.
