Lambir Hills National Park is one of the world’s most complex and diverse forest eco-systems. In a total area of just 6,952 hectares, experts have found what appears to be the greatest level of plant biodiversity on the planet. It is not only plant life that is diverse and plentiful at Lambir - 237 different species of birds (at the last count), flying squirrels, wild pigs, gibbons, many different types of monkey, various species of deer, and untold insects, all combine to create Lambir’s rich biological kaleidoscope.

Lambir Hills National Park is one of the world’s most complex and diverse forest eco-systems. In a total area of just 6,952 hectares, experts have found what appears to be the greatest level of plant biodiversity on the planet. It is not only plant life that is diverse and plentiful at Lambir - 237 different species of birds (at the last count), flying squirrels, wild pigs, gibbons, many different types of monkey, various species of deer, and untold insects, all combine to create Lambir’s rich biological kaleidoscope.The Lambir Hills National Park is located along the Miri-Bintulu Road, some 30km south of Miri Town. This park has outstanding regional and global conservation significance for its extraordinary species-rich forest, ideal for botanist and researchers throughout the world. More than half of the area of the park is covered with rich natural Mixed Dipterocarp Forest where huge, tall dipterocarp trees such as kapur, meranti, kempas and selangan batu are found. Other forest types found are Kerangas Forest with smaller and shorter trees like rhu bukit and selunsur bukit, low shrubs, pitcher plants and orchids.

Apart from the various tree species, the park is very rich in plant species such as ferns, gingers, vines, palms, mushrooms, moss and lichen, flowering and fruiting shrub trees, climbers and creepers. There are a good variety of animals including bats, monkeys, pangolins and barking deer. Up to 157 species of birds have been recorded.

This half-day tour will include a pickup from your hotel at either 9am or 1pm. You will have a chance to enjoy the beauty of this national park, as well as a swimming spree at a waterfall. Enjoy the cool and refreshing mountain stream.

The tour will complete with a transfer back to your hotel in Miri.
