  • Hanoi Highlights Half-Day Tour By Bicycle

Hanoi, Vietnam

Trip Type:   Bike & Mountain Bike Tours
Duration:  Flexible
Hanoi was founded in 1010, and became the official capital of an independent Vietnam in 1954. Today, ancient crumbling buildings dating from the 11th century lie scattered among grand French colonial residences, while shrines and monuments to Vietnam's first president, Ho Chi Minh, sit in the shadow of modern high-rise buildings. The streets of the Old Quarter preserve age-old customs, where trade takes one back half a century, and temples, pagodas and monuments reflect the historic character of Vietnam. A perfect way to see and explore this part is by bicycle and this tour does exactly like that.

Navigating through the streets and alleys, we reach the old French Quarter with a stopover to visit the prison museum the Hanoi Hilton, until we reach the outskirts of the city where you will have the chance to admire Ngoc Ha village and discover small alleys and corners until we will encounter B52 Lake where there is a wreckage of a US air force B52 bomber shot down in 1972.

A short ride from the village will take us to West Lake and Truc Bach Lake, pedaling along the bank of the lake, we will reach a local style coffee shop named Quat, usually filled with local coffee drinkers. Enjoy a cup of world famous Vietnamese coffee (known as “ca phe sua da”) before visiting the nearby Ngu Xa pagoda.
