There is no better way to appreciate the dramatic vistas of an Alaskan snowscape during the summer months than from the back of a sled pulled by a team of huskies and mushers as you ride across an age-old glacier.  This 90-minute tour will start at the Seward airport where you will check in for your tour and meet your pilot for your 15-minute Helicopter ride to the Godwin Glacier.  The tour leaves multiple times a day, with morning, afternoon and early evening departures available.  From the air, you will take in amazing views of towering mountains and pristine snow fields as you make your way to the landing site. 

The helicopter will drop you off at camp where at a team of professional mushers and 25 huskies eagerly await to take you across the pure white snow fields surrounding you in every direction.  Learn about Alaska’s state sport, how it arose out of a necessity to travel and hunt during the harsh, unforgiving winters, and how today thousands of people across the state train for competitive races taking place in some of the most incredible and beautiful scenery in North America. 

After a short, 2-mile sled ride across the ice, cap the experience with a warm beverage as you cuddle adorable Huskie puppies and hear colorful tales of what it’s actually like to take a dog sled across the frozen landscape.  Play with the puppies one more time before climbing aboard your helicopter for a short ride back to Seward where you will depart the tour during the still bright light of a summer afternoon or evening.
