Visit the beautiful Godwin Glacier on a 45-minute helicopter tour outside of Seward, AK.  Make an ice angel, throw a snowball, or just marvel at the frozen scenery after touching down on the massive sheet of ice.  This is a perfect introduction to the incredible scenery of Kenai Fjords National Park.Alaska is a land of startling contrast - towering mountains and seemingly endless sheets of ice superimpose themselves upon a landscape of endless forest and bright blue lakes.  Although towns and settlements scatter themselves among the wild country of America's largest state, it is quickly apparent that, in Alaska, man must yield to the demands of mother nature.

You helicopter flight starts at the airport in Seward where you will meet your pilot and learn a little more about the helicopter you will be travelling in.  After taking your seat and adjusting the headset you will use to communicate with your pilot, you will take off and head towards the glacier.  The town will quickly disappear, swallowed by the forest, and imposing, snowcapped mountains will greet you in the distance.  The 15-minute flight will take you by Resurrection Bay, a land of mammoth floating icebergs trapped like sentinels staring across the broken coastline. You will fly over the Godwin Glacier where you will touch down for further exploration.  You will have 15 minutes to wander the glacier, feel the snow, and appreciate the quiet splendor of the ice.  Once you have firmly established a sense of the place in your own mind and memory, it will be time to reboard the helicopter, take off, and return to Seward.
