Safety helmets are provided. We recommend covered in footwear.When you arrive for your horse trek, our guides will request you sign in on our guest check in system on our iPad. You will then be taken over to the stables and given your riding helmet and taken out to the riding arena so your guide can select a horse or pony for you depending on your previous experience. Treks are suitable for beginners to experienced riders with horses and ponies to match your ability. Full instruction is then given by your guide so you feel confident during your trek.

Our horse treks start on the lower part of Mount Ngongotaha riding over working farmland at a slow and steady pace. As you climb further up the mountain, you will ride through beautiful tree lined native bush taking in spectacular views over Lake Rotorua, remembering that these trails are nearly 100 years old. Your guide will stop along the way so you can capture the moment with your camera. As your trek comes to an end you will wind your way back down through the lime green paddocks to the bottom of the mountain feeling thoroughly relaxed.

All safety helmets are provided, but we recommend you wear covered in footwear. We have wet weather gear and boots when needed. Free parking is available.
