This small-group horseback riding trip in the hills near Coyhaique will allow you to experience a little taste of gaucho culture while passing through farmland and woodland with spectacular views of the whole valley. Your professional guide will point out geographical features and offer a little history of the region as you ride along. The tour includes transport to and from your accommodations along with safety equipment.Your day starts with a pick up from your hotel or, if you prefer, from the Plaza de Armas of Coyhaique. From there you travel about 5 miles (8 km) from the center of town to the stables where you will be introduced to your guide and your horse. You will also be provided with a helmet and a pair of half chaps. Your guide will match riders with horses based on level of previous experience, even if it's none. All of the horses are mixed breed Chilean horses, all very tame but with their own character.

Once the group is sorted, set off on a trail through the valley before starting up the hillside, passing in to native woodland. Continue along paths winding upward to a magnificent viewpoint where the summit of the mountain is visible along with the whole valley and city of Coyhaique. From here loop around and head back down the mountain, following a different, but equally beautiful route. Throughout the ride, your guide will explain about the area, its geography, flora, fauna, and local history of the area.

Arriving back at the stables, say farewell to your horse before being transported back to town and your hotel. The duration of the actual horse ride is about 2 hours.
