This bike ride packs a lot of highlights into only 20 miles of riding. Vault across the Hudson River on the Walkway Over the Hudson, then experience two beautiful rail trails on a mostly car-free ride to the town of Gardiner, where your bicycling adventure takes a turn to explore the local flavors of the Hudson Valley. You'll make 3 stops where you can taste it all, with lunch included. Then, our guides will drive you and your bike back to the train station afterwards. Easy to get to from NYC on the train. No car or driving required!

No car or driving required!Stop #1 is Gardiner Liquid Mercantile where you will receive an overview of the region’s wine, spirit and cider industry along with a sampling of a few local ciders.
Stop #2 is the charming Tuthilltown Spirits Distillery and Restaurant where lunch is served at their restaurant inside a historic grist mill. After lunch, take a tour of the distillery and have a tasting of their excellent whisky!
Stop #3 is the beautiful Whitecliff Vineyard and Winery which you will approach using local roads with beautiful views of the Shawgunk Ridge. End your ride here with a tasting in a beautiful surrounding before being shuttled back (with your bike) to the train or your car.
At each of the stops, buy whatever you like and we will transport it for you. No need to carry it on your bike!
Take the Metro-North Hudson Line train to Poughkeepsie with your bike (bikes are allowed on the train) and meet us there to start your ride. The train leaves Grand Central at 8:48 a.m. and Harlem-125th Street at 8:59 am and arrives at Poughkeepsie at 10:47 am (If you are not coming from NYC, you can also drive to the Poughkeepsie train station where you can park for free and meet the group at 10:47 am) We will meet you at the station and we will hook you up with energy bars, snacks and water before sending you on your way.
It’s 15.5 miles to Stop #1 at Gardiner Liquid Mercantile, where lunch is served with a tasting of local cider. From there it’s an additional 1.8 miles to Stop #2 at Tuthilltown Spirits where you do can do another tasting and a distillery tour. Then it’s 2.6 miles more Stop #3 where you’ll get to explore Whitecliff Vineyards and have another tasting. After you are done, we will shuttle you and your bicycle to the Poughkeepsie train station for the train ride back. Exact train times back cannot be guaranteed. However, the trains leave hourly and take approximately 2 hours to reach Grand Central.
As you go through the various stops on this tour, we will transport any wines or spirits that you buy in our support vehicle so that you do not have to carry them on your bike while you ride. If you buy too much to carry back with you on the train, we can deliver what you bought after the tour to your home for a $20 fee. So go ahead and buy a case if you want to!
Train fare is not included, but you can add discounted rail fare for $29.75 extra.
