Enter a man-made tunnel inside the glacier, nearly 4,000 feet (1,200 meters) above sea level, and wonder at the glowing blue hues as you explore the glacier's 1,650-foot (500-meter) corridors and caves on foot.
If your tour takes place in the summer (June to September), pass over the UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park and marvel at the fissure in the Earth's crust, where the European and North American tectonic plates slowly drift apart. Thingvellir is also one of the country’s most important cultural heritage sites, as it was here that Iceland’s first parliament was formed in 930 AD.
After a full day of exploring, your tour concludes with a drop-off back at your hotel.
