Zip around Rotorua on a jet boat, passing through majestic Tutukau Gorge on your way to the geothermal reserve at Orakei Korako. Some of the most active geysers in New Zealand bubble and boil at Orakei Korako, and you get to walk around the park to see its otherworldly beauty up close. When it's time to go back, enjoy a high-speed ride back on the Waikato River. Make your way to the jet-boat headquarters, just a half-hour drive from Taupo or Rotorua, to meet your guide for an orientation and safety briefing at your selected time. Strap on a life jacket and head out to your jet boat.

Cliffs rise 165 feet (50 meters) above the Waikato River in spectacular Tutukau Gorge, where your guide points out birds, pine forests, popular trout fishing grounds, and steaming geothermal areas along the banks.

Arrive at Orakei Korako, a magnificent thermal reserve with as many as 23 natural geysers. The constantly changing terrain boasts boiling hot springs, mud pools and colorful silica terraces, an otherworldly landscape that you can admire during walks along raised boardwalks.

After taking in the geothermal wonders of Orakei Korako, return to the jet boat and be prepared to get wet on a thrilling ride. Hang on as your expert driver executes spins and tight turns.

After your 3-hour excursion, return to your starting point at the jet-boat office where you are offered a hot beverage to end the tour.
