Take a break from the beach to spend a day exploring inland Krabi with an experienced guide. Soak in natural hot springs before taking a refreshing dip in the Emerald Pool at Khao Phra Bang Khram Nature Reserve. Visit Tiger Cave Temple to admire its towering golden Buddha statue, and finish up by riding an elephant through the rainforest. Entrance fees, a tasty Thai lunch, hotel pickup and drop-off, and an experienced guide are all included. Your day starts with morning pickup at your Krabi hotel. Meet your guide and get comfortable in your air-conditioned coach for the drive to the hot springs, located in a lush rainforest about 40 miles (70 km) away.

Under the shade of the trees, relax in naturally formed tubs that have been hollowed out from smooth stone. With temperatures around 95° Fahrenheit (35° C), the thermal waters of the hot springs are rich in volcanic minerals that are said to nourish the skin and soothe sore muscles.

Once you have enjoyed a good soak, continue to the Emerald Pool (Sa Morakot), located nearby in Khao Phra Bang Khram Nature Reserve. Follow your guide on a short forest walk along wide trails lined with clear ponds, waterfalls, streams and trees. When you arrive, marvel at the large, spring-fed pool, and then hop in for a swim in its crystal-clear waters. Spend about one hour in this jungle paradise.

Next, stop for lunch at a local Thai restaurant before continuing to Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Sua), a Buddhist monastery surrounded by thick foliage. Near the entrance, see an elaborate Chinese pagoda that houses a large statue of Kuan Yin (Goddess of Compassion) and the cavern where a tiger once lived. Then, take your time to climb 1,272 steps to reach a pavilion with an immense golden Buddha statue that stands 912 feet (278 meters) tall. On a clear day, enjoy expansive views over the verdant forest and the sparkling Andaman Sea.

Wrap up your tour with a 30-minute ride on an elephant, and learn about the care, conservation and behavior of these intelligent animals.

Your day trip ends with a hotel drop-off.
