From the village of Hartington you will walk on lanes and paths into Biggin Dale, and Wolfescote Dale before returning to the village. Join a small group of usually no more than eight people to enjoy a half day guided walk to explore two of the beautiful limestone dales that the White Peak area of the Peak District is famous for.
From the village of Hartington you will take a country lane then a track that leads into Biggin Dale, and then continue into the impressive, steep sided Wolfscote Dale to follow the course of the River Dove as it passes over a series of small weirs, producing pretty little waterfalls. Eventually you will reach Berresford Dale, and then skirt around Pennilow Hill before finishing the walk back in Hartington.
The walk is about 5 ΒΌ miles (approx. 8.4 km) on mixed terrain. Paths may be grassy, stony, and maybe muddy and slippery in places. There are some hills, and stiles to be climbed over and squeezed through. It is essential that you have proper walking boots or trekking shoes.
