Join this two day tour which combines flights departing from Moorabbin Airport, great food and wine and Victoria's best living history attractions. Visit Brown Brother's Winery, Milawa, PS Emmylou, Echuca and Ballarat’s Sovereign Hill.Day One:
Sit back and relax in your private twin-engine aircraft as it departs Moorabbin Airport for Brown Brothers Winery located in the magnificent Victorian King Valley at Milawa. This small 6 person tour will have you disembarking at the Brown Brothers airstrip by 11am where you can enjoy morning tea and a guided tour of the winery which includes the private family cellar.
After your tour you will have a private tasting where you can taste wines only available at the cellar door. Lunch is served at Patricia’s Table restaurant where you will enjoy a glass of sparkling before enjoying a spectacular three course wine and food matched lunch. Head chef Douglas Elder is passionate about using fresh, local produce with the menu changing regularly to reflect availability of freshness of produce and to allow for new wine releases to be showcased.
After lunch, depart for a quick 40-minute flight to the Paddlesteamer Capital of Australia, Echuca. Here you will be met at the Airport and transferred to the Port of Echuca where you can wander the Historic Port of Echuca before boarding the iconic Paddlesteamer Emmylou for your overnight cruise departing at 6pm.
The Emmylou is the only wood-fired paddlesteamer offering regular overnight cruising. Fueled by red gum logs the paddlesteamer offers modern convenience and some old-world charm. Elegance and style are the order of the day when it comes to catering for your stay on-board the Paddlesteamer Emmylou. Enjoy a three course dinner at Redgums restaurant followed by a delicious breakfast the following day.
Top local wines including a selection from Brown Brothers and a range of alternatives are available from the fully stocked licensed bar all served to your table on the outer deck while you enjoy a glowing rose and gold sunset. After dinner enjoy a campfire beside the mighty Murray River as you pull in for the evening. Listen to the river birds' evening chorus, then linger over dessert and coffee to watch the stars appear. Guests are comfortably accommodated in twin share cabins, featuring traditional riverboat style bunks.
Day Two:
After arriving back at Echuca Port at 9.30am you will be transferred back to your aircraft for a 40 minute flight to the Historical City of Ballarat. Here you will visit Australia’s foremost outdoor museum, Sovereign Hill which re-creates Ballarat’s first ten years after the discovery of gold in 1851 when thousands of international adventurers rushed to the Australian goldfields in search of fortune. Enjoy 4-hours at Sovereign Hill where you can witness Australia’s history come to life! The daily program includes 18 scheduled activities, with something to interest everyone.
After your visit it’s time to relax onboard your twin engine aircraft for the 30 minute flight back to Moorabbin Airport arriving at 5pm.
