The basic sailing program is the beginner’s course, intended for those who want to learn the basic steps in sailing technique, get familiar with the sailboat, sea and wind. Position of our sailing school in Croatia in the mid Adriatic sea, many islands and the wind blowing almost constantly is a guarantee for you, to take your sailing course in Croatia. The basics sailing course is designed for anyone who've always, whether because of other people's tales, or simply by watching 'the lucky ones', felt that the wind, the sails and the sea can provide unique satisfaction, a satisfaction that cannot be described by words, but needs to be experienced in person.

The object of the course is adapting to the wind, sea and life on the sailboat, learning the basic techniques of sailing and understanding the basics of nautical conduct at sea.

It is aimed for adults (aged 16 to 18 possible with parental written consent) and no previous knowledge is required. You just need to have swimming skills and readiness for physical activities.

The skills that you will acquire in this course are the basics of steering, sail handling, participation in daily routine work on the boat
The sailing area is the local waters of the island Murter and the course last for 5 days. Accommodation: on board (subject to availability)

Your daily schedule:
· 08:30 - lecture (to 9:30)
· 10:00 - stretching
· 10:15 - sailing
· 13:00 - anchoring, lunch
· 14:00 - sailing
· 17:00 - return to marina and arranging the boat

Safety at sea and ship
Terminology - basic points of sailing (close hauling, reaching, broad reaching, downwind)
Port/start board side / windward / side
What makes the boat move forward
Positions of crew members
Sails and trimming of sails
Reefing of the sails
Sailing in course
Avoiding collisions at the sea
Tack, gybe
Anchoring
Apparent wind
Meteorology – wind, compass rosse
Knots

Arrival: Saturday at 18.00
Start of the course: Sunday morning
End of the course and departure: Thursday evening
