Discover one of the most important archaeological sites in the world: POMPEII from Rome. Upon arrival in Naples you will be led to a panoramic tour of the historical centre: Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, Piazza del Municipio, the Gallery of Umberto I, the San Carlo Opera house. Then continue to Pompeii. After lunch you will be taken to a coral and cameo factory to admire and possibly purchase items of this ancient craft.
Then it will be time to visit the excavations of Pompeii, the ancient Roman city that was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 70 a.C. This archaeological journey will give you the opportunity to better understand a way of life typical of the Roman society at that time. It’s possible to see the intact remains of people, domestic animals, food that show some evidence of the final agony and the panic felt by the people in those last few minutes before the city was so disastrously buried. At the end of the visit we will return to the coach for the journey back to Rome. Drop off to your centrally located hotel or vicinities.
