Enjoy a day trip to the Nazca Lines, a series of ancient geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert in southern Peru. Take part in an aerial tour with flight over the enigmatic Nazca Lines in a small aircraft.
Enjoy early pick-up and private transfer from your hotel to the bus terminal. Begin your bus tour, bound for the town of Nazca located on the south coast of Lima, 450 KM away. Cross various typical villages of Peru such as San Vicente de Cañete, Peru afro town of Chincha, the city of eternal sunshine of Ica and the agricultural town of Palpa where we can observe the arid and dry desert of Nazca during the drive.
Upon arrival to the town of Nazca, your bilingual guide will assist you and drive to the airport of Nazca, our staff will show you a video film about The Nazca Lines. This documentary lasts about 30 minutes and involves serious information about the Nazca Culture, as well as the figures you will see from the air.
Following the video, our English-speaking pilot will proceed to give you a briefing about your air tour. For this aerial tour, you will board a small Cessna single-engine aircraft. Each participant will receive a map of the archaeological zone, depicting the figures you will see from the air. See figures such as a whale and triangle, which appears over a small hill featuring 3 points. On the other side you will see the famous trapezoids that, according to Erick von Daniken were ancient runways for visitors from another planet. These trapezoids are about 2 kilometers long and their perfection is stunning. Set eyes upon one of the strangest creatures on the Nazca desert “The Astronaut”. His body is facing to the south and according to Maria Reiche it does not represent an astronaut, but a shaman or ancient Nazca priest, someone with magic powers who could predict the weather.
Later, fly over the monkey figure, an enormous drawing that measures about 90 meters in length, and shows at one hand five fingers and on the other just four, symbolizing the 9 month of drought the Nazca people suffered every year. See the dog figure, a small drawing that according to some scholars it represents a divinity worshiped by the Nazca people. The most popular preserve figures of the area is “The hummingbird” and not far from the hummingbird you will find the figures of the spider, flamingo (largest of figures), parrot and the condor. Aside from these animals you will also see several geometric designs around, and the beautiful valley of Ingenio.
Return home with transfer to the bus terminal and back to Lima city, upon arrival to Lima receive private transfer to your hotel or local airport.
