Explore the beautiful southern coast of Jamaica on this day trip from Negril. A scenic tour to St. Elizabeth on the south coast will take you to YS Falls, Black River for a boat safari ride and Appleton Rum Estate. A delicious, authentic Jamaican lunch and transportation is included.
Your guide will pick you up at your Negril hotel early in the morning. Make your way through small farming villages and learn about Jamaica's rich history from y our driver. The drive to the south coast is slower. After a 1 1/2 hour journey we arrive at the Appleton Estates.
At Appleton Estate, learn about the history of the famous spot as well as the process for making rum. You will be taken to the bar for an orientation and a few cups of island rum punch. After a video lesson of how rum is made, you will be take on a familiarization tour that includes visiting the aging house. The guided tour is about 45 minutes.
Next, head to YS Falls, where a jitney, hauled by a tractor will be waiting to take you on 10 minute ride through the woods up to the falls. Spend approximately 1.5 hours at the falls, where you'll have the chance to swim in the natural pool or even zipline (Zipline at an additional cost).
After 1 1/2 hours we will depart and head off a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch, we will make our way to the dock for the last part of your fabulous day trip! Board a pontoon boat that will take you up the Black River for an hour to view the vegetation and see the wildlife, including crocodiles, eagles and other birds! As soon as you return to the dock we will head back to the resort.
