Tivoli, Italy

Trip Type:   Attraction Tickets
Duration:  Flexible
The Villa Gregoriana Park in Tivoli covers the two sides of a deep canyon, where the Aniene River cascades down for over 100 metres to the Roman countryside beneath. This part of the Tiburtine landscape is particularly attractive, characterised by fascinating cliffs, caves and waterfalls, and packed with evocative reminders of antiquity.
The park is truly unique, Nature and artifice are so seductively interwoven here that the park provided the main subject for 19th-century paintings and drawings of Tivoli, which became an essential stop on the Grand Tour.

The cascades, caves and tunnels are particularly attractive to children. The old trees give shade to the small tracks, that lead into the canyon and back (there are some stairs to do!!)
You will find a small caffetteria/restaurant under the Roman temples, where to rest, a bookshop, restrooms and fountains with fresh drinking water. On Sundays we offer special activities for children.

The Villa Gregoriana Park is a true botanical garden that is best discovered calmly, walking along its myriad paths up to the acropolis, where you will find the temples of the Sybil and Tiburnus.

Relax amongst the holm oaks: flicking through the pages of a book just yards from the Grotta delle Sirene (Sirens' Cave) or amidst the ruins of the Roman domus of Manlius Vopiscus, against a backdrop of rustling foliage and the gently flowing water of the River Aniene.
Get some exercise in the Park: the paths in the Park are excellent for those who want to go hiking without straying too far from the urban environment. The surroundings are also perfect for those who like yoga.

Have a picnic in the Park: benches, picnic areas, taps and toilets are available if you want to make the most of the Park with your family and friends, including those of the four-legged variety.
Discover the flora and fauna: walking along the paths of this enchanting garden allows you to find out all about the animals and plants that populate it – it really is an open-air museum

We recommend comfortable shoes!
