Enjoy this cooking activity with the best Peruvian recipes. You will prepare a delicious two course Peruvian meal. No experience needed. This is a cultural experience you will take back home to prepare with your beloveds. You will participate actively in cooking and preparing your own meal. In these two hours of fun you can meet new friends and enjoy a great meal with everybody. The activity is held in Casa de Avila Hotel located four blocks from the Main Square and close to most touristic hotels in town.

Once in Casa de Avila, a welcome refreshment will be invited and you will be taken to the terrace to wait for all the group to arrive. This is the moment everybody leaves their belongings in a secure area, get your cameras ready and wash your hands to be ready for the fun.

The cook in charge will introduce him/herself and will invite you to the cooking area. Find your space around the cooking table. Take your apron and your cooking hat (a must!) and dress up for the activity.

Time to present the activity. The cook will give a general review of the Menu and its cultural background and the products we will use . English and Spanish options available.

In couples, the group will start pre-elaborations. Peeling, cutting, slicing, all the activities are done by the group. This is not a "sit and watch me" activity. This is a “do it yourself “ one. Once all products are ready, the group proceeds to the preparation of the menu.

Three Menus are available. First registered decides the Menu. Fish menu depends on weather conditions (we use fresh fish), so it will be confirmed on arrival.

The Traditional Menu includes Causa Rellena and Lomo Saltado. Causa is a mashed potato pie seasoned with lemon and local chili. Its filled in layers with avocado and a veggie salad or tuna fish salad. All prepared in individual molds and decorated personally at the end of the preparation. Second dish is Lomo Saltado. A “sauteed” mix of veggies, chili and tenderloin served with fries and rice.

The Andean Menu consists of Soltero de Queso and Rocoto Relleno. Soltero is a boiled veggies salad (beans, carrots, etc) with fresh local cheese, corn (not yours, the local one!), and quinoa. All seasoned with lemon and vinegar. Colorful and fun to prepare. And second course is Rocoto Relleno. A local Capscum not very hot with a two meat sauce feeling. A potato and cheese pie is included.

And the Sea Menu contains Ceviche and Chorrillana. Ceviche is the famous lemon marinated fish, a delicatessen of the Peruvian cuisine. And Chorrillana is a fried fish, Peruvian styled, topped with at hot onion and chili sauce with french's and rice.

Once you finish your preparations, you will be invited to serve them in plates and enjoy adding your personal artistic touch to the recipe. This is the moment of the best pictures. And you will have the time. We also help you with pictures at no cost. Usually all the group participates taking pictures and helping each other.

Now it's time to get to the table to enjoy our meal. Refreshments for everybody and a dessert will also be served. We will send you the recipes and pictures if we took some during the activity.
