From the rich history of Pisa, Lucca and Chianti Classico wine area full of churches, squares, palaces and museums, this area offers a wide variety of experiences.
The first stop for one hour in Pisa. Pisa is famous for its architectural beauty. Piazza del Miracoli, with the celebrated Leaning Tower, the Baptistery and the Cathedral, an unrivaled masterpiece of Romanesque art constructed between the 11th and 12th centuries. Piazza dei Cavalieri, where you can admire the historic Scuola Normale, one of the most famous university in the world.
The second stop is for 2-hours in the elegant and refined town of Lucca. You can walk along the famous sixteen century walls, then entering into the enchanting historical center where you will have the chance to admire the amazing Piazza Anfiteatro, the Torre Giunigi, the Duomo di San Martino and the typical “antique dealers’ street”.
Biking on Lucca’s walls
For anyone who loves being on a bike, or wants to see the city from a different perspective, or just wants to break up the museums-churches-walking routine it is definitely recommend to add this short and easy bike ride. The walls completely circle the city, but you’re not on a narrow wall, as many people first imagine. The path is wide enough that it was once used as a racetrack, and since it’s also completely flat and full of great picnic spots it as a great activity
Then you will stop at a winery in the Chianti area for one and a half hour for a wine tour with the tasting of wines and the extra virgin olive oil with a snack.
The driver/guide will thoroughly introduce the places being visited, from a cultural, historical and artistic viewpoint while driving to and through them, but is not licensed to give in depth explanations at sights or guide inside churches, or museums.
