This is a unique opportunity to watch the humpback whales on the open waters off the coast of Praia do Forte.After meeting in Vila de Abrantes, the tour will drive to Praia do Forte, where you will check in the whale watching boat. Take some time for a short coffee break before meeting with the professionals of the whale institute to get a briefing about the whales and safety on-board. From here, walk just to the beach around the corner from where you will embark on "your" private boat "lancha rapida". The fast boat brings you to the grounds where you can observe this wonderful animals. It can get quite wet, as there is no pier, so bring a swimsuit.
The ship will take you approximately 2-miles offshore where the captain will find the whales for you, with a success rate of 98%. After a 2 to 3 hour cruise, the tour will get head to the beach to disembark the ship. If you like you can still enjoy Praia de Forte and the Turtle Project. Once back in Abrantes, you can enjoy and relax on the ranch until you head back to town.
