At approximately 8:30am, a tour guide and driver will pick you up from your centrally located Chengdu hotel. Begin the 43-mile (68 kilometers) drive the visit the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, which was built in 256 A.D. See how it is still working to irrigate Chengdu plain and be amazed by the wisdom of the ancient civilization who built this system. Afterwards, hop back in the vehicle and drive back to the city.
Come the afternoon, visit Wuhou Temple, a temple in memory of Zhuge Liang, the most famous Military strategist in the Three Kingdoms period. Surrounded by old cypresses and classical red walls, the temple has an atmosphere of nostalgia. Afterwards, visit Jinli ancient street, one of the oldest streets to appreciate the local snacks and artifacts. The elegant style of the architectures tells you what Sichuan looked like during the Qing Dynasty. Once your tour comes to an end, return to your Chengdu accommodations.
