Take part in this 9-hour private day trip where you will discover the "Land of Golden Stones". Explore on food with a donkey by your side as you observe the perched villages with limestone buildings. Then, head to a winery where you will enjoy the locally produced wine before heading back to your Lyon accommodations.
Meet and greet your guide as they meet you outside of your hotel at approximately 8:30am. Head out of the city to the nearby land of golden stones in the south of Beaujolais. Meet up with your donkey then follow a small introduction session on how to guide and care for the donkey. Around 10:30am, you will start the walk across the villages and trails of the Golden Stones area, and through forests, countryside and vineyards. The easy walk is a total of 10kms, however you may travel at your preferred speed. The circuit you follow can be adapted depending on each walker’s physical capacities.
A nutritious picnic of local products will be provided for you and your party. During this hike, you will visit a family-run winery and discover a cellar. Enjoy a tasting of the delicious wine from the vineyard. All throughout the day your guide will explain the peculiarities of each village and little anecdotes about the area. End the assisted donkey hike at 4:30pm before beginning your journey back to your Lyon accommodations. Arrive at approximately 6:00pm.
