Its unique design, ethereal beauty, and enduring cultural significance have seen it proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Over the centuries the garden has numerous additions and restorations but it still retains its sense of serenity and refinement as envisaged by its original owner.
After enjoying a Chinese lunch at a local restaurant, head out to the Suzhou Silk museum. The institute also contains a training facility and workshop where you can see artisans creating exquisitely detailed embroidered works, often using silk threads which is much finer than human hair.
