Embark on this private 8.5-hour tour of Suzhou, departing from Shanghai. Visit Master-of-Nets Garden, the smallest and most classic garden among the Suzhou gardens. Break for lunch at a local restaurant before visiting the Humble Administrator's Garden, located on the Dongbei Street of Suzhou. This green paradise is a typical classic garden of southern-China-style. Afterwards, heading back to Shanghai after a visit to a local silk museum. This full day exploration of Suzhou starts at 8:30am from your hotel in Shanghai, where your guide will pick you up and head to Suzhou. This city is located in the west of Shanghai, it is well-known for its unique gardens and collection of interesting museums, which is certainly worth a full day trip. The first stop of the day will be the Master-of-Nets Garden. It is the smallest one of the Suzhou residential gardens, but is considered as one of the most impressive ones in town.
The Humble Administrator's Garden, covering about 52,000 sq. metres, is the largest and most renowned of Suzhou’s famous gardens and is next on your agenda. Its unique design, ethereal beauty, and enduring cultural significance have seen it proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Over the centuries the garden has numerous additions and restorations but it still retains its sense of serenity and refinement as envisaged by its original owner.

After enjoying a Chinese lunch at a local restaurant, head out to the Suzhou Silk museum. The institute also contains a training facility and workshop where you can see artisans creating exquisitely detailed embroidered works, often using silk threads which is much finer than human hair. Some of these hand-made works of art can often take years to complete and consequently a genuine hand-made original embroidered work can command very high prices.

A great day comes to an end as you are transferred back to your hotel in Shanghai.
