The Amalfi Coast is named after the Town of Amalfi - the most glorious town on the Coast. Amalfi has been attracting people from centuries - from the pilgrim seeking for the relics of Saint Andrew to the modern traveller admiring richness of its past and its unique beauty. If you like you can visit the Cathedral of Sant’Andrea or you can try to get away from the crowd exploring the maze of narrow walkways: welcome back to the Middle-Ages. A few minutes above Amalfi lays Ravello - certainly the one of most elegant and less crowded town on the Amalfi Coast. Marvel at its medieval villas such as Villa Cimbrone or Villa Rufolo, both with astonishing views. Indulge yourself sitting at one of its peaceful cafés or browsing the ceramic workshops.
Next stop shall be Positano, with its white-washed houses and its fancy shops and art galleries. If you like you can leave the vehicle and discover the village. Positano mostly is pedestrian from the road down to the beach. Feel free to ask your driver for a good lunch suggestion.
From Amalfi to Sorrento your private tour will start driving up-hill across the mountain range, through orange and lemon orchards. Once at the top you leave the Bay of Salerno behind you and you finally face the Bay of Naples and its islands.
In Sorrento ask your driver to let you off in the city center called Piazza Tasso. From there you can explore the old town and reach the spectacular garden and cloister of St. Francis with the best sea-view of the entire bay of Naples.
The town is colorful, mostly pedestrian feel free to wander around the main road Corso Italia, its narrow side-alleys, the little shops and the good gelaterias (ice-cream places).
