This is a full day safari which sees you travel by land rover from your hotel to the Banjul to Barra ferry crossing. This, in itself, is quite an experience as you join the hustle and bustle of everyday life on the crossing to Senegal.
After the 1 hour ferry crossing it is back on the land rover and having crossed the border into Senegal it is a short drive on to the Fathala Wildlife Reserve. Here, you get to see rhinoceros, giraffe, zebra, antelope, crocodile and ostrich. The Lion Walk is exactly that. You* get to walk with lions after some brief initial training. These animals up close are awesome and you get to spend some quality time watching them roam around and climb trees.
Lunch is taken on the way back, which is all ready for you having pre-ordered your choice earlier in the day.The whole journey there and back gives you a unique insight into life as it is in both the Gambia and Senegal.
