Getting to the locals favorite mountain is half the fun. The ride with the nostalgic funicular and the world's first "CabriO" gondola with it's open roof deck allows spectacular views over lake Lucerne.
The local guide will meet you in front of the tourist information in the railway station Lucerne. By train we reach the small village Stans, where we board the nostalgic funicular. Half way up, we change into the spectacular open roof gondola and glide to the top of Mt.Stanserhorn.
A short hike leads to a viewing platform, which offers astonishing vistas over lake Lucerne, the Bernese Alps and it's neighbor mountain Mt. Pilatus.
The turning restaurant attracts with a 360 degrees panorama which you can enjoy, while trying the Swiss speciality "Aelpler Makronen".
We'll return to Lucerne via the same way.
