During your 4 hour tour led by an art historian guide, you will take a walk to the Boijmans Museum for an hour of Dutch Fine Art. Then, you will visit the City Center and the historic Harbor, crossing the iconic Erasmus bridge to the landing platform of Cruise ships.Meet your guide at 10:30am and go to the Boijmans Museum for a good hour of Dutch Fine Art. Then you will stroll through the rebuilt City Center, and hear about the sudden Nazi bombardment of 1940 that flattened the city center. Rotterdam started with a clean slate, changing its streets plan and canals plan.
Take a walk towards the historic Harbor where you can step aboard a number of historic ships. Crossing the huge and iconic Erasmus bridge, you get to the landing platform of international Cruise ships. Have your lunch at the exciting huge restaurant at the Art Deco Hotel New York (not included).
From that point you have many various options, which you will discuss with your guide over lunch. One of the best options are: a walk along the refurbished docklands, an exciting speedboat tour on the water (extra fee), a visit to the Rotterdam Historic Museum, a visit to the New Institute for Architecture, or the nearby Chabot Villa which was a 1930s residence. Most options require an entrance ticket (on your own expense).
