During this daily tour you will be visiting the Cratere della Fossa of Vulcano island with a professional hiking guide. You will discover the active fumaroles and walk along the sleeping crater. Here the approach to the volcanic world are considered a deep experience in an open air laboratory. The typical thermal mud bath offered by the volcanic conformation of the island offer the possibility to end the day in a very relaxing way between healthy mud and fumaroles.This tour include only the service of the Hiking Tour guide, that will assist you during the hike in to the cratere delle fossa of Vulcano island. The excursion will take minimum 3 hours and half.

The excursion starts with a gentle walking until the main entrance of the path to Cratere della Fossa. From here we will start our climbing with a very slow rhythm as the firs part of the hike is a little bit hard. After one hour we will be in the fumaroles area where the path becomes flat and where we will approach the fumaroles area to discover why the gas coming out from this volcano fractures. We will talk about the actual volcanic evolution of this part of the Island.
In a safety environment we will take pictures of fumaroles and walk in the area to admire the strong yellow colour present in the surface and composed of a mix of gas and humidity. For those who wish to continue the climb, it will be possible to reach the highest point of this volcano and make it the complete tour of the crater with descent to the main port area of the island. Following will be a break to relax after the hike in a small local bar before continuing the journey to the mud bath and get some time to chill on the beach where it is possible to find other submarine fumaroles where you can swim around to experience this special moment surrounded by hot bubbles.
