Private Lesson: Two Hour Fly Casting Lesson

This two hour casting lesson will teach you the basic casts required to get started in the sport of fly fishing. Each student will learn the three basic casts, overhand, sidearm ad roll cast, needed to build a solid foundation in fly fishing. All needed equipment will be provided as well as handouts to remind students of all the concepts covered in the lesson.The lesson will start with a full explanation of the fly rod and reel, its function, care and storage. Next, the theory behind fly casting will be discussed. After the function of the equipment and the theory behind the cast in understood the student will move on the "hands on" portion of the lesson. The overhand cast is the first cast covered, since it is the most used cast it will be given the most time in the lesson and must be mastered by the student can move on the next two casts.

After the overhand cast has been mastered the sidearm cast will be covered and then the roll cast. When the student has a full understanding of all three casts they will then be taught how to practice, the real heart of the lesson. The method that we use for practice, if followed exactly, will assure every students success. The lesson raps up with a question and answer session and a quick review of ll the topics covered.
