Charter a private sailing tour on San Francisco Bay aboard a yacht. Not a tour boat, but a classic wooden ketch, heading under the Golden Gate Bridge into the Pacific. You will experience the scenic beauty of the bay, with all the abundant wildlife, such as pelicans, porpoises, seals, whales and the occasional great white shark.Departures are from Sausalito, but other pickups can be arranged. After a short safety briefing you'll will be under way, heading out toward the Pacific ocean. The course is determined by the weather, but if you're lucky your captain will take you for a nice ocean sail to start. Then, head back toward the San Francisco waterfront. Here you'll often encounter porpoises, smaller than their cousins the bottlenose dolphin, and they're fascinating to watch. Then you'll enjoy a long lazy circle past Alcatraz on the way to Ayala Cove on Angel Island. This is a perfect setting for a snack, lunch or even a full dinner.
