Enjoy an entire day full of adrenaline on the dunes of Huacachina, enjoy a complete city tour in Ica and taste some of the best Piscos and wines of the region. Practice the sand-board and buggy ride over the dunes of Ica and get amazed with the beautiful sunset over the desert. Enjoy your day with a delicious and typical lunch and refresh yourself with some drinks on board.Wake up early because we enjoy a day full of adventure and delicious food. Our tour starts at 6:30am departing from your hotel in Lima. We will drive by the South Pan American Highway towards Ica in a 4 hour journey. During the way, you can grab a refreshing drink from our cooler. We will arrive at 10:30am approximately and have some free time to enjoy some the best "tejas" (typical sweet of Ica) of the city and visit the archaeological sites such as the Temple of Luren among others.
Later this day, we will relax and visit a traditional winery called El Catador, founded in 1856. This place, offer a personalized and guided tour inside the complex of the factory. You will learn more about the process and production line of the national drink of Peru, the Pisco. We will taste the varieties of Pisco (Acholado, Italia, Quebranta among others), wines and liquors produced here. You can also buy some souvenirs made here.
After this tour, get ready to enjoy a delicious lunch with typical food from Ica. We highly recommend you to try the famous "Sopa Seca", which is prepared with noodles, pieces of pork, dehydrated potatoes, peanuts, aji panca and mirasol peppers, garlic, and other spices. Also try a "Chicha Morada", prepared with purple corn, lemon and sugar or the famous Pisco Sour, the most important cocktail based on pisco.
At approximately 4:00pm, we will have the opportunity to practice a unique sport in Peru, the sand-boarding. We will visit the Oasis of Huacachina, called the Oasis of America, it is a resort for local families and a tourist attraction where we will practice sand-boarding and take dune buggy rides on sand dunes that stretch several hundred feet high. The oasis has a reduced level of water and authorities have been forced to artificially pump water into it.
We will end our trip with a beautiful and unique sunset in the middle of the desert. After the sunset, we will return to Lima arriving there at approximately 10:00pm.
