Your tour includes transport and accommodation.Day 1: Chinchero- Maras Salt Mines and Moray
After hotel pickup in Cusco at around 8am, you will head to Chinchero. Here, you will admire the well-preserved Inka walls of the main square and many altars. You will aloso get to participate in an introduction and learning experience of the art of Andean textiles. Become acquainted with the wisdom of Andean weaving as maintained since long before Inka times.
Continue the drive through snow-capped peaks of the Andes and lush yellow fields of wheat, past some villages. Then arrive to the wonderful display of terraces in Moray. Moray has three amphitheater-like terraces made by the Incas which are carved deep into the earth in a bowl shape. They were thought to be used to determine the optimal conditions for growing crops. After exploring Moray, head over to the salt mines of Maras. See what used to be a salt-producing center dating back to pre-Inca times. Observe over 3,000 salt pools all carved into the mountain side and being filled daily by a little stream of water.
In the afternoon, you will board a train to Ollantaytambo to the train station in Machu Picchu. There, you will board a vehicle to be transferred to the town of Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes) where you'll spend the night. You have the option of visiting and enjoying the hot springs.

Day 2: Machu Picchu and back to Cusco
After breakfast, you will head with your guide to the bus station to take a bus to the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu. You will catch the sunrise and begin your 2-hour walking tour with your guide. Afterwards, you can explore the mysterious city on your own. In the afternoon, you will return by train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo where you will be taken by bus back to Cusco.

Optional things to do:
- At Machu Picchu, you can climb Huayna Picchu (mountain behind Machu Picchu). It takes 45 minutes to reach the top and the view from the top over Machu Picchu is worth it. (There is a limit of 400 people who are permitted to climb this, so if you want to do it, it is good to go immediately after your tour.) From the top of this mountain, you can also walk down to the Moon Temple which takes 45 more minutes. From there, it takes about one hour to get back to Machu Picchu itself.
- Walk up to the Sun Gate (45 minutes to 1 hour).
