Enjoy a 3 day private kayaking and snorkeling tour in one of New Zealand’s little known stunningly beautiful places, the Bay of Plenty. You will have a Marine Biologist PADI Dive master on the trip who can educate you on the marine life. You will also be shown some edible delicacies. You will be treated like family on this tour which can be customized to suit your needs.
Your adventure begins when you are picked up from your accommodation in Whakatane.
The drive time is approximately 2 hours. From Whakatane you will travel along the beautiful coastal highway through Ohope, New Zealand’s best loved beach and on through the small coastal town of Opotiki. Along the way you will stop at a few landmarks to take in this spectacular landscape as you make your way along the coast to your accommodation at Whanarua Bay.
You will spend your days kayaking and snorkeling. In the evenings you will have a traditional barbeque on a large hot plate over the fire. After dinner you can sit around the fire roasting marshmallows, listening to the calls of the Moreporks. The stars in the night sky here are incredible.
On your 3rd day in the morning you will spend this time kayaking and snorkeling this great area before heading back to Whakatane in the afternoon.
Your accommodation is in a large caravan with toilet, shower and simple kitchen. Snorkeling visibility is dependent on the sea conditions. Snorkeling and kayaking are weather dependent and may not go ahead in rough conditions. If conditions prove unsuitable you will be able to go on a scenic tour further along the coast where you will see some of the filming locations of the Movie “Boy”, a New Zealand movie production.
