Start your tour with a pickup from your centrally located Dubai hotel. Meet your courteous private driver and board your private air-conditioned 4x4. As this is a private tour, feel free to ask your guide any questions and adjust the duration of any stops along the way according to your wishes, providing it doesn’t result in your trip over-running.
Relax into the comfort of your 4x4 and leave Dubai and the neighboring emirate of Sharjah behind as you drive east into the desert. Pass rugged sandy plains and small villages, and keep watch for your first views of the Hajar Mountains in the distance.
After about 1.5 hours, pass fruit orchards and vegetable fields on the way into the oasis village of Falaj Al Mualla. Stop to look round here before continuing into the Hajar range to a hidden mountain wadi. Stop beside a picturesque oasis and enjoy a packed lunch complemented by a refreshing soda or bottled water. Cross the dunes to this unusual rock formation that resembles a camel head rising from the orange sands. Take photos from different angles and while you’re here, inspect the age-old marine fossils embedded in the nearby rocks. Hear from your guide how the imprints were formed by tiny marine creatures that existed here millions of years ago when the area was covered by ocean.
After viewing the fossils, settle back into your 4x4 and drive back to Dubai, where your trip finishes with a hotel drop-off.
